London Style Chinese Food - Cubes

Read about the good review on Cubes in Klue. I thought it was a pub or something when I first saw it. Was surprised to find out it serves Chinese food!

The place was comfortable and quiet on a Wednesday at lunch hour. Hubby said the decor reminds him of 'Rain' - the restaurant in Discovery Travel & Living Channel's 'Made To Order' show.

We like:

• Aromatic Duck - shredded duck meat eat ala Peking Duck style (one of their signature dish)
• Szechuan Hot & Sour Soup - lovely!

Also tried:

• Fried rice with Crab Meat & Scallop - quite bland and dry :(

I would say the price is very very reasonable for the superb food quality, comfortable and tastefully decorated interior and excellent service! Will definitely go back!

Kid Friendliness: Ok. Spacious seating, plenty of room for strollers or running kids.

Early Birthday Celebration

Thank you, thank you, thank you to my buddies who took effort and time to arranged an early birthday lunch for me =o)

It was lots of fun... especially got to meet 'Mrs. Heng' ;p I know its hard with everyone having their own families and kids now; but I hope we can get together more often... make an effort ya guys!

Lunch took place at Dain Ti Hill at Pavilion. It serves chinese food but with Japanese presentation! ... Is this consider fusion?? Definitely a refreshing concept but taste wise was just so so... The Baked Escargot was ok and I will order the Stone Bowl Curry Pork Rice again. Desserts were really good looking but taste very ordinary :(

Location: Pavilion, 6th Floor (near TGI Fridays)
Kid friendliness: Ok. Quite spacious with booth seatings. Private rooms available for group. Air-cond was kinda cold for the little ones.

Also 37 Litres!

I pumped petrol at around 5.45pm last Friday, at slow nozzle speed and managed to get 37 litres also! Same amount as the last time I pumped at 8am !!
